Curia could hardly believe her luck. She'd chased the Scarecrow into the cornfield, knowing her Amazonian strength would be more than a match for his frail form. She spotted the fear-mongering felon moving rapidly though the fog ahead of her, but she was about to overtake him. A few more feet and....
A 10,000 candlepower searchlight blazed into her eyes from directly in front. Wonder Woman threw her arms up but was unable to stop in time before she stumbled headlong into a thick 4x4 stuck into the ground. The blow knocked Curia backward and the woozy heroine was pressed back to the ground, a thick, foul smelling cloth pressed long and hard against her mouth and nose.
When Wonder Woman roused herself, she found her arms wrapped around the 4x4 post. Her bracelets had been welded together and Curia knew that meant her strength had flown. She looked up warily and gasped at the fearsome visage of Dr Jonathan Crane, aka the Scarecrow. The villain giggled, then cam closer to his captive heroine.
"I know I gave you a momentary start, my dear," he said. The Scarecrow lifted his hand and showed Curia that he had possession of her magic lasso. "But with this, we're going to find out just what it is that REALLY scares you."

Would love to see Scarecrow interrogating Wonder Woman with her own magic lasso. Scarecrow: "Tell me, Wonder Woman: what is it that you are afraid of?" Wonder Woman: "I'm afraid of mice!" Scarecrow: "Incredible! The most powerful woman in the world afraid of mice! But you're bound with your own lasso so it must be true!" Wonder Woman: "Yes! The magic lasso forces me to tell the truth when I'm bound with it!" Scarecrow uses this knowledge to his advantage. Wonder Woman: "EEEK!! Mice!! Stay away from me!!!"
